Donna M. Zaffarano, 82, beloved wife of William Zaffarano passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Mohawk Valley Health Care Center, Ilion. Born on December 31, 1932 in Ogdensburg, NY, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Dorothy (Smithers) Murphy. On December 31, 1951 she married William J. Zaffarano at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Frankfort. At one time, she was a member of the Ilion Knights of Columbus Axillary. In her leisure time, she enjoyed dancing, singing and had a love for music. She is survived by her husband, William (Bill); a son, Dennis William Zaffarano and Elane of Richfield Springs; her daughters, Debra Ann Rector and husband Dennis of Florida and Terrie Lee Voorhees and husband Dennis of Ilion; a brother, Gary Murphy of Ilion; a sister, Jeanine Jones of Florida; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her in-law, Barbara Rowe and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Billy Murphy and twin grandsons, Chase William and Chance Robert. A Memorial Mass will take place on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Annunciation Church, Ilion with the Reverend Paul Catena, Pastor officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to The American Diabetes Association.
