ILION - Dorothy V. Frederick, age 87, formerly of North Columbia Rd., Ilion, died on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown, NY. She was born on April 11, 1928, in Ilion, the daughter of Irving and Irene (Robertson) Pett. On November 23, 1946, she was married to William "Bill" Frederick in the North Columbia Church, Ilion. He died August 6, 2006. Dorothy was a former member of OES in Mohawk and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, East Herkimer, NY. Dorothy was an avid piano player and loved to play and sing. Her family meant everything to her. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Daniel Harakis, of Herkimer; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Patrice Frederick, of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren, Courtney, Colby and Larry Frederick, Kara Mower, Dennis Morris, Teddy Frederick and Jordan Frederick; ten great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Rebecca Frederick, of Schuyler, and Donna Frederick, of NH; two sisters, Edith Acers and Irene Zuis; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill; her sons, Irving Frederick and Norman Frederick; her sister, Judith Llewellyn; and her brother, Leonard Pett. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 17, 2015, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 317 Gros Blvd., East Herkimer, NY. Interment will be at North Columbia Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, July 16, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home's newly reopened location at 102 West St., Ilion, and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
