Obituary of Catherine L. Rider

ST. JOHNSVILLE - Mrs. Catherine L. Rider, died on Saturday morning July 18, 2015 at her home with her beloved husband Carleton and family there with her. Mrs. Rider was 95. She was born on June 15, 1920 in Little Falls, NY, a daughter of the late Franklin and Helen (Vincent) Stever. She was a lifelong area resident and was educated in local schools. Her marriage to Carleton F. Rider took place May 28, 1948 in Fort Plain, NY. The couple have been members of the Grace Christian Church of St. Johnsville since 1956. She retired from Helmont Mills in St. Johnsville as a knitter. Catherine enjoyed membership with the Ladies Fellowship of the church as well as at one time being a member of the St. Johnsville Fireman Ladies Auxiliary. Her life revolved around her family and she especially loved ceramics, furniture refinishing, and was known to enjoy movies. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Carleton, a son Calvin F. Rider (Susan) of Gloversville, a daughter, Natalie Weaver of Seminole, Florida, her grandchildren, Charles Weaver, Jr. (Terri), Dana Lindamood (Barry), Aimee Ross (Ken), Kelly Horne (Drew), Suzann Weaver (Deb), Jody Weaver, Stephanie Richards (Russell), and Christopher Rider (Stacey), 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, a sister-in-law, Jeanette Bundyk of St. Johnsville, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Franklin Stever. Funeral Services will be held on Friday July 24, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Grace Christian Church, 20 Center Street in St. Johnsville, with Pastor Martin Glynn officiating with burial to follow at West St. Johnsville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Funeral Directors Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea (518) 568-2300. Calling hours at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street in St. Johnsville are on Thursday July 23, 2015 from 5 o'clock until 7 o'clock PM.
