Obituary of Edward W. Carpineti

LITTLE FALLS: Edward W. Carpineti, Jr., 87, a lifelong Little Falls resident passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Alpine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Little Falls with the love and support of his family by his side. Born in Little Falls on October 8, 1927, he was the son of the late Edward W. and Frances (Vespasiano) Carpineti, Sr. He attended Little Falls Schools and in 1946 entered into the United States Army, honorably serving his country during World War II. On October 12, 1952, Ed married the former Joan Hatfield at St. Joseph's Church, Little Falls and shared 50 years of love and devotion until her passing on July 11, 2003. During his working life, Chubby was employed by Cherry Burrell Corp. of Little Falls for many years, most will remember him as being part of the Carpineti & Sons Barbershop; a family owned and operated business on Main Street. After 60 plus years of cutting hair, he ended his career in 2013 giving his last hair cut at the age of 86. His virtues of hard work and dependability were admired by his patrons and peers. He held close to his heart the love he had for his wife, children, grandchildren and family. In his leisure time, he loved the outdoors enjoying hunting, fishing and skiing. Ed was a member of the Decarlo Staffo Post of Little Falls, the Holy Family Parish Men's Club and was a Boy Scout Leader for many years. Very active in his church, he was a parishioner of Holy Family Parish, a church usher and money counter. He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Dziedzic and husband Bob of New York Mills; his son, David Carpineti and wife Cathy of Little Falls; his beloved grandchildren, Peter Dziedzic and Melissa Freeland, Rebecca Dziedzic and Tom Jackson, Bill Carpineti and wife Jessica, Kaitlin Regan and husband Sean and Nora Sullivan and husband Jason. He is also survived by his cherished great grandchildren, Lindsay Dziedzic, Jania, Minnie, Octavia and Koko Jackson, Chase, Jayden and Kylie Regan, Jillian and Giuliana Carpineti and Lilyan Sullivan; nieces, nephews and special cousins, Joe and Bev Vespasiano. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Carpineti. The Carpineti Family would like to acknowledge Laura, Ellen and Shauna who took care of Ed which allowed him to remain in his home. They would also like to thank the entire staff at Alpine Nursing, especially his nurses, Amy, Michelle, Ginger and Maggie for the care and compassion shown to him during his time spent there. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 beginning at 10:15 AM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street in Little Falls and at 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Parish Church corner of East Main & John Streets in Little Falls where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Terence Healy, Pastor, assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer with military honors. Calling hours at the funeral home will be on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, from 4 until 7 PM. It is the wish of the family that contributions be considered to the Holy Family Parish in Little Falls; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
