ILION: Patricia M. "Patti" (Shannon) Vivyan, age 73, a longtime Ilion resident, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015 in the comfort of her home. Born on February 2, 1942, Patricia was the daughter of the late James Shannon and Marian (Juteau) Shannon-House. She was raised locally and attended local schools. At one time, Patti shared in a marriage with William G. Vivyan, a relationship from which she had her three sons. Hardworking by nature, Patti held various positions throughout her working years. She was a part-owner and operator in various Mohawk Valley businesses, including Tony's Country Place and the Sunshine Lounge. She also utilized her time as a self-employed housekeeper. Patti was a selfless and giving person who cared for everyone around her, including family, friends, and even her pet fish and dogs. Her kindness will be missed. Patricia is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Deborah Vivyan of Watertown, William Vivyan of De Kalb, NY, and James and Kristen Vivyan of Jordan, NY; and her grandchildren, Steven, Jason, Andreana, Joseph, Michael, Stormy and Dugan. She also leaves her sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra and Rick Clute of Florida and Sue and Joe Meelan of New Hartford; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Barbara Shannon of Frankfort, Phillip and Donna Shannon of Fairfield, and Karin Shannon of Frankfort; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a special friend, Anthony "Bonnie" Bonfardeci. Besides her parents, Patti was predeceased by her siblings, Billy Shannon and Sharon Shannon. In honor of Patricia's love for animals, anyone wishing to do so may consider memorial donations to the Herkimer County Humane Society; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday evening, August 5th, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, (Town of Frankfort), Ilion, NY.
