Obituary of Jacqueline A. Mizerak

Mrs. Jacqueline A. Mizerak, of Furnace Street in Little Falls, NY, passed away on Friday July 31, 2015 at Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY. Jackie was 76 years old. She was born on August 12, 1938 in Little Falls, NY, a daughter of the late Paul and Ann (Adasek) Gasper and was educated in and graduated from Little Falls schools. On February 1, 1964 she was united in marriage with John Mizerak, III at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Little Falls. The couple had celebrated 45 years of marriage. Mr. Mizerak passed away on May 5, 2009 at the age of 75 years old. Jackie worked as a secretary at Griffis Air Force Base for a few years before getting married and moving to Niskayuna. Mr. & Mrs. Mizerak had returned to the Little Falls area and have lived in Little Falls since 1967. After getting married, she became a housewife. She took exceptional pride in taking care of the family and enjoyed every moment with her children and being at home as a house wife. She attended the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Little Falls. Survivors include her two sons, David P. Mizerak of Little Falls, and Dr. Derek J. Mizerak and his wife Sandra of Ilion. Jackie was a proud grandmother to two grandchildren, Alexia and Kira Mizerak. She is survived by her sister, Sheila Galbraith and her husband Roger who reside in Delaware. Her sister has two children, Shelly and Roger. Jackie was a great-aunt to seven nieces and nephews. Jackie is also survived by her sister-in-law, Anna Paracka, who resides in Little Falls. She was predeceased by a brother-in-law, William Mizerak. Her sister-in-law (his wife), Starr Mizerak lives in Little Falls, as well as many nieces and nephews. Calling hours at the funeral home on West Monroe Street will be held on Thursday August 6, 2015 from 5 until 7 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday August 7, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Steven A. Scarcia officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, East Monroe Street in Little Falls.
