Obituary of Gloria Carpenter

Ft. Plain Dateline Mrs. Gloria J. Carpenter 67 of 6628 State Route 5 Ft. Plain, died Monday September 14, 2015 in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident earlier that day. Gloria was born on April 19, 1948 in Little Falls, the daughter of the late Joseph and Daphne (Patterson) Steciak, and was a graduate of Dolgeville High School, class of 1965. A veteran of the United States Army, she served honorably from October 1967 until she was discharged on February 27, 1968 in Ft. Benning, Georgia. She served with Co “A” 1st Bn USAIC, having earned the National Defense Medal. She was the owner- operator of the C & C Grocery Store, operating on Rt. 5, near Fuccillo Auto Complex. Gloria was very involved with the Samaritan Purse Local Chapter, which provided many items to the children and under privilege youth, especially in Africa. She is survived by a Son Roy her Daughters Kathy Ann and Linda, her Sisters, Deanna, Laura, Joann, Sherri, Candice, Kim, and Michelle, her grandchildren Tyler, Alyssa, Brooke and Marcus, along with a Special Companion Ed Clark. She was predeceased by a Sister Lynn and a Brother Joseph Steciak Jr. A Celebration of her life will be held on Sunday October 11, 2015 at the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville, from 11am until 1PM when Mr. Richard Assaro will offer a service.
