Obituary of Georgette J. Conroy

MOHAWK – HERKIMER – Georgette J. Conroy, age 89, a resident of Mohawk for several years and longtime Herkimer, NY resident passed away surrounded with love on Saturday morning September 26, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, NY. She was born on June 8, 1926 in Herkimer, NY, a daughter of the late Elias and Florence (LaFleur) LaFontaine and was educated in Herkimer schools. She had lived in the Mohawk area for several years and had lived the majority of her life in Herkimer. She had worked with UNIVAC in Utica as an assembler, and had also at one time worked at Cogars in Schuyler. Georgette was a faith-filled member of St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. She was a knowledgeable fine antique dealer for many years. Georgette was a tremendous business-woman and just a remarkable lady. Survivors include her sons, Jack Conroy of Milford, NY, Ronald Conroy and his wife Bonnie of Arkport, NY and her daughter, Patricia Ariel and her husband Mark of Liverpool, NY, several grandchildren and great – grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sisters, Carmen LaFontaine, Elaine Frank, and Lorraine Treen, and a son, David Conroy. Her arrangements have been planned with her family funeral home The Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street in Herkimer, NY (F.K.A. HOLLERAN Funeral Services). A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Church, North Bellinger Street in Herkimer. The Very Reverend Mark Cunningham, Pastor, will celebrate the Mass. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer.
