Obituary of Leonard J. Kraeger

ILION – Mr. Leonard J. Kraeger, age 69, of Ilion, NY, passed away on October 31, 2015 at his home with his family at his side. He was born on February 5, 1946 in Boonville, NY, a son to the late Stanley Clayton and Mary Bertha (Duppert) Kraeger. He graduated from South Lewis School and went on to receive his RN from Utica College. He served our country in the United States Army. He retired from the Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center in Utica with over 35 years of service. He is survived by his children Craig Kraeger, Jeff Kraeger and Christie Kraeger, and siblings, Dennis Kraeger, Lyle Kraeger, George Kraeger (Berniece), Jane Croniser (Randy), Wesley Kraeger (Amy), and Ronnie Kraeger (Angie), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Jim and sister – in – law, Patti. Leonard had a great passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed golfing, ATV riding, and visiting National Parks. Leonard also enjoyed sharing food with friends and family. Leonard’s family has established all arrangements with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, (Town of Frankfort), Ilion, NY. There will be memorial calling hours on Tuesday November 3, 2015 from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home on Acme Road. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday November 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of the funeral home with Chaplain Ken Palmer officiating.
