Obituary of Arthella I. Hopper

HERKIMER- Mrs. Arthella “Artie” I. Hopper, 103, a longtime resident of Herkimer, passed away on November 6, 2015 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born on June 26, 1912, in Herkimer, daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Richards) Bradle. She was united in marriage to Wilbur “Fred” Hopper. Arthella enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting and spending time with her family. In her younger years she loved to snowmobile. Survivors include her 9 grandchildren Mary Kae Brentlinger (Todd), Cindy Foltz, Robert Tallman (Kathy), Kelly Gehring (Eric), Bill Tallman, Dan Tallman (Pam), Cathy Tallman, Carly Bradley (Rob), Terri Cimon (Marc) several great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, her daughters-in-law, Donna Tallman and Judy Tallman, sisters-in-law and her special friend, Anne Schell. She was predeceased by her husband Wilbur, her sons William J. and Robert F. Tallman and her brothers Richard, Russell, Howard and Steven. In keeping with Arthella’s wishes there are no public calling hours, but a memorial graveside service with take place at 11am on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Frankfort Hill Cemetery. Donations in memory of Arthella can be made to the Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. The family is being cared for by The Enea Family Funeral Home 220 N.
