Obituary of Robert "Bob" R. Trask

Robert “Bob” R. Trask, age 74, of Mobile St., Town of Winfield (Cedarville), passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Eve (December 24, 2015) at home. He was born on June 5, 1941, in Cooperstown, the son of Ernest and Emma Jane (Brigman) Trask, and attended Richfield Springs and Mohawk schools. On February 5, 1960, he was married to Catherine “Katy” Sterling in Ilion. Bob was employed as a machine operator at Remington Arms Co., Ilion, for Thirty-three years, retiring in 1998. Surviving family members include his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert G. and Donna Trask, of Colorado, Robie R. and Karen Trask, of Texas, and Sheila Trask, of VA; a special niece, Kitten; five grandchildren, Trina, Christopher, Arthur, Katherine and Mindi; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, cousins, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He was predeceased by his wife, Katy, on August 30, 2007; his son, Arthur; and several brothers, sisters and other family members. Friends and relatives are invited to attend Bob’s graveside committal service on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at 9:30 a.m., at North Columbia Cemetery, Elizabethtown Road, Ilion. In keeping with his wishes, there are no scheduled calling hours. Anyone wishing to share a memory of Bob, or add to his online memorial, may go to www.applegateandday.com. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home and at the cemetery service.
