Obituary of John D. "Jack" Crimmins

Mr. John D. “Jack” Crimmins, age 69, of Herkimer, a Veteran of the Vietnam Era, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at his home. Jack was born on December 21, 1946, the son of the late Robert E. and Christine (Vrana) Crimmins. He was raised and educated in Little Falls, graduating from Little Falls High School with the Class of 1967. Upon completion of his schooling, Jack enlisted with the United States Army, and was honorably discharged. For many years, Jack was employed as a fork truck Operator with Redco Foods in Little Falls. He was a lifelong member of the Disabled American Veterans, General Herkimer Chapter 162 and a member of the Little Falls American Legion. Jack was a kind man with a big heart whose sense of humor will be remembered by many. He loved his trips to the casino and any time spent with his beloved family. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and George Gullis of East Herkimer; his nephew, Daniel R. Gullis and his wife, Christen; special great-nieces, Kharla Danielle Gullis and Karlee Ann Gullis; and his special aunt, Sue Crimmins and many cousins. He also leaves many friends he made throughout his life, including Don Maholovich and Bob Rasch, and his canine friends, Cooper and Magic. Jack was predeceased by a special nephew, Kevin George Gullis, in 2010. Jack’s family chose to honor his life in a private gathering. There will be no public services. He will be laid to rest with his parents in St. Mary’s Cemetery at the convenience of his family.
