Ms. Marjorie A. Ladd, age 93, of Schuyler, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 28, 2016, in the comfort of her home with the love and support of her family by her side. Marjorie was born in Schuyler on September 13, 1922, the daughter of the late Stuart and Mabel (Finster) Ladd. She was a graduate of Proctor High School and attended the Utica School of Commerce. For many years, Marjorie worked as an Office Manager with Doyle Hardware in Utica and was well-known through her affiliation there. In her spare time she enjoyed flowers and gardening. She had a love for animals and kept pet cats for many years. She served as a secretary with the West Schuyler Cemetery Association and was of the Methodist Faith. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Marian and Michael Yaneshak; her niece, Susan Jones and her husband, Mark; her nephews, Paul Yaneshak and his wife, Cynthia, and Dr. John Stuart Ladd and his wife, Laurie; her great-nephews, Ryan Jones, Christian Yaneshak and Benjamin Ladd; and her great-niece, Whitney Dezotell and her husband, Michael. Marjorie was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, LeRoy and Dolores Ladd. In honor of Marjorie’s wishes, there will be no formal calling hours. Friends and family are invited to bid their farewells at her graveside service in the spring, which will take place on Monday, May 16, 2016, at 11:30AM from the West Schuyler Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative care, or the Herkimer County Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
