Charlotte J. Cuda, age 84, of Orchard St., Ilion, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 29, 2016. She was born in Herkimer on July 2, 1931, the daughter of Thomas and Josephine Monaco, and attended Herkimer schools. Charlotte graduated from Austin Beauty School receiving a N.Y.S. Cosmetology License. At one time, she was married to Robert J. Sweeney. She later married Carl Doxtader who died in 1970. Mrs. Cuda was the owner and operator of Charlotte’s Beauty Salon in Mohawk for many years. She loved her family, cooking, and trips to the casino. Charlotte was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also a very generous person to all. Surviving family members include her daughters, JoAnn Bliss, of Herkimer, Robin Tripple and her husband, John, of Frankfort, Kelly Harper and her husband, Todd, of Columbia Center, and Melissa Elthorp and her husband, Charles, of Ilion; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, including her special niece, Debbie; and several nephews, cousins and special friends, Debbie and Butch Seaver and daughter, Brandy. She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Antoinette Grogan; and her son-in-law, Bernard Bliss. In keeping with Charlotte’s wishes, there are no scheduled calling hours or services.
