ILION - Mrs. Patricia J. Foster, age 59, of Ilion, passed away on Thursday evening, February 25, 2016 at the Mohawk Valley Health Care Center, to a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by the love of her family by her bedside. Patricia was born on September 19, 1956 in Utica, the daughter of Joseph Rende and the former Nellie Humphrey. She was raised and educated in Ilion and was a graduate of Ilion High School with the Class of 1974. On May 22, 1976, she was wed to Robert E. Foster, Jr., and the couple shared in a blessed union of almost forty years. Patricia was a hardworking woman who spent thirty-two years in the Laundry Department of the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo at various venues throughout the Mohawk Valley area. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, and nothing made her happier than being surrounded by her family. Patricia is survived by her husband, Robert; her daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Jon Cordero of Rome; her grandchildren, Makayla, Desarae, Giovanni and Hailey, and one great-grandson, Omar. She also leaves her sister, Rhonda of Minnesota, and her brothers, Tom of Rochester, Raymond of Minnesota, Don of Arizona Jim and Crystal Rende of Germany, Joe and Debbie Rende of Rome, Ken and Betty Rende, Gary Rende all of Ilion, Mike and Rita Rende of Nebraska, and Rick and Malee Rende of Baltimore; and her special friend who was like a sister, Mary Bruso of Ilion, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Foster, her mother Nellie, her father Joseph Rende and stepfather Raymond Cline, and her sister Shirley Carney. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday March 2, 2016, from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road (Town of Frankfort) Ilion, NY. Patricia’s funeral service and Celebration of Life, will take place at the funeral home at 7:00PM, immediately upon the conclusion of visitation with Deacon James Bower officiating. Burial will take place in the spring in Armory Hill Cemetery, where Patricia will be laid to rest beside her son, Robert. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Harry J. and Kevin E.
