Obituary of Michael Yaneshak

FRANKFORT – Mr. Michael Yaneshak, of the town of Schuyler, passed away peacefully with his devoted family at his side on March 7, 2016 at his residence. Michael was born in Herkimer on September 12, 1924, the son of the late Andrew and Paiza (Motyka) Yaneshak. He attended and graduated from local schools. His marriage to Marian Ladd took place November 24, 1956 at the East Schuyler Methodist Church. For thirty six years, Michael worked as an Electronics Technician with General Electric. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and farming as well as bowling and golfing. Mike enjoyed helping others. Whenever someone needed something done, he did it. He attended Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church in East Herkimer as well as the West Schuyler United Methodist Church. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marian, his son Paul Yaneshak and his wife Cynthia of Holden, Massachusetts, his daughter, Susan Jones and her husband, Mark of Schuyler; his grandchildren, Ryan Jones, Christian Yaneshak,; and Whitney Dezotell and her husband, Michael, as well as a nephew Dr. Jon Stuart Ladd and his wife, Laurie and their son Benjamin. He was predeceased by two sisters, Theodosia and her husband George Jago, and Helen and her husband Samuel Maniacek, as well as a sister in law Marjorie Ladd and brother – in – law LeRoy and his wife Dolores Ladd. Funeral services will be held on Sunday March 13, 2016 at 4:00 PM at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street in Herkimer with Rev. Cindy Makarchuk, Pastor of the West Schuyler United Methodist Church officiating. Calling hours are at the funeral home prior to the service from 2 until 4 PM. Friends and family are invited to bid their farewells at his graveside service in the spring, which will take place on Monday, May 16, 2016, at 11:30 AM from the West Schuyler Cemetery as well as for his sister – in – law, Marjorie Ladd. Following the graveside service all are invited to a reception. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Oneida, Herkimer, and Madison County.
