Obituary of Agnes M. Marrone

FRANKFORT: Mrs. Agnes M. (Oriolo) Marrone, 89, beloved wife of Donald and lifelong Frankfort resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, March 13, 2016 while residing at the Masonic Care Community, Utica. Agnes (Aggie) was born in Frankfort on June 4, 1926, to the late Guiseppe and Maria (Silvestri) Oriolo. She was raised and educated locally and was a graduate of Frankfort High School. On September 25, 1948 at St. Mary’s Church she married Donald Marrone with whom she shared 67 years of a union filled with love and commitment. Agnes was employed as a secretary at the Reese Road Elementary School and was last employed as the Deputy Town Clerk for the Town of Frankfort. After retirement, she along with her husband Donald enjoyed spending winters in Sebring, FL for over 25 years. She was a kind hearted person with a warm smile. As a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she catered to her family with an open heart, always ready to listen and make things right. She loved cooking and baking and everyone she met felt welcome in her home and at her table. Agnes was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Church. She is survived by her beloved husband, Donald; her sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Patricia Marrone of Niskayuna and Craig and Sabra of Fuquay Marina, NC; her daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Peter Bushey of Schuyler; her daughter-in-law, Christine Marrone of North Syracuse; her cherished grandchildren, Denise (Shaun) Bennett, Scott (Jennifer) Marrone, Cory (Jaime) Marrone, Kelly (Jason) Pekrol, Sarah (Kevin) Derycke, Alyssa (Leif) Olsen, Michael (Jennifer) Bushey, Megan (David) Cappadonia, Alex Marrone, Keegan (Teresa) Bushey and was blessed to also have seventeen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Dominick Oriolo; in-laws, Mamie Oriolo, Robert Marrone, Janet Hahn, Thomas (Pete) Marrone; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Dr. Gary Marrone; granddaughter, Nicole Bushey; brothers, Alex, Nicholas, Joseph and Frank Oriolo; her sister, Eleanor Kinney; in-laws Rose and Albert Marrone, Alma Oriolo, Joseph Kinney, Evelyn Oriolo, Bella Oriolo, Marie Oriolo, Aurelia Marrone, Bernard Hahn and Joyce Marrone. The Marrone family would like to thank the staff at the Masonic Care Community for the compassionate care they provided to Agnes during her stay there. Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, March 17, 2016, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894 – 8000. Her funeral service will commence on Friday, March 18, 2016, beginning at 11:15 AM from the chapel of the funeral home and at 12:00 PM at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Church, S. Frankfort St., Frankfort where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Procession will follow to Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frankfort, where she will be laid to rest. The Marrone family is being cared for by Harry J. and Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors.
