HERKIMER- Louise M. Celio, age 97, a lifelong Herkimer resident, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Valley Health Services, Herkimer with the love and support of her family by her side. Louise was born on October 15, 1918 in Herkimer, the daughter of the late Americo and Clemintina (Servadio) Manieri. Raised and educated locally she attended Herkimer schools. During her working days, Louise worked as a hostess for Mohawk Valley Country Club, Little Falls, assisted her husband Albert at the Elk’s Lodge as a hostess and worked with him at “Boozie’s” Ice Cream Parlor on South Main Street, Herkimer. Louise loved her family dearly and spending time with them was most important to her. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, golfing, gardening and puttering around outside in her yard. Louise was a member of the Lady Elks of Herkimer and Sts. Anthony & Joseph Parish. She is survived by her son, Peter Celio and his companion Heidi Elder of Virginia; her daughter, Janet Andrews and her husband Terry of Ilion; her beloved grandchildren, Thomas and Allison Andrews, Nadine Celio Blot and husband Tom, Peter Celio and wife Jamie, and Brian Celio; her great-grandchildren, Thomas Blot and wife Justine, Sarah Blot and Matthew and Dominick Celio. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Albert D. Celio in 2000, her brothers, Dominick and Alfred Manieri, her sister, Theresa Torcia and a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Celio. A special thanks to her most cherished granddaughter Allison, who was always there for her and her grandson Thomas, for his love and support.
