Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Jodway

Stratford Dateline Mrs. Mary E. Jodway 79 of 197 Piseco Road, Stratford, died Wednesday April 27th, 2016 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady where she was a patient since March 29th. Mary was born in the Town of Salisbury, on March 5, 1937 the daughter of the late Howard “Polk’ and Mary (Jenison) Johnson. She attended rural school in the Town of Salisbury. She was united in marriage to Michael Jodway on July 1st, 1961, and they celebrated 52 years of marriage until his passing on August 13, 2013. Mary was employed by the Stratford School system as a bus driver and when the school merged with Dolgeville Central School she continued driving bus until she retired in 1999.She always had a pleasant greeting for the kids and a warm smile. In her leisure time she enjoyed camping with her husband and family, and crocheting many items for her grandchildren. She was especially fond of her Rose garden. She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Orie) Foster of Little Falls, Brenda of Utica, Janet (Jeffery) DeRhonda of Florida, Michael Jodway Jr. of Stratford, Mark Jodway and his companion Doris Birch of Gloversville, Edward (Marlene) Jodway of Stratford, and Nancy Keba and her fiancée James Bubbins of Caroga Lake, 20 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren, her Sisters Ella Dillenbeck, Elsie (Charles) Goodwin, her brothers Charles “Sonny” (Helen) Johnson and Edward (Margaret) Johnson, several Nieces & Nephews. She was predeceased by her Brother Kenneth Johnson and a Sister Aleta Rumrill. Graveside services will be held Saturday MAY 14, 2016 at 11:30 AM at the Salisbury Rural Cemetery, Rt 29 Salisbury Center, New York.
