Obituary of Juline C. Daley

FRANKFORT – Mrs. Juline C. “Julie” Daley, age 86, a longtime Frankfort resident, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016, surrounded by the love of her family. Julie was born on January 12, 1930 in Vermontville, NY, a daughter to the late Gilbert and Ruth Lyon. She was a graduate of Ilion High School with the Class of 1948. On October 2nd of that same year, she was married to George E. Daley, and the two shared in a loving union of 55 years until George’s death in 2003. Throughout the years, besides her duties of raising a family at home, Julie worked at several area stores as a cashier. She will always be remembered for her smile, her kindness and her beautiful heart. Julie leaves behind her three daughters to carry on her legacy: Lisa Daley and Tammy Zammiello and Anne Grates and Carl Trozzi, all of Frankfort, and Patricia Carcione of Herkimer. She held a special bond with her grandchildren, Scott and Kelly Grates of Frankfort, P.J. Grates and Hanna Yifru of Virginia, Amanda Davis and Jae Kimball of Ilion, Ashley Davis of Frankfort, Patrick Carcione, and Mark and Lauri Raffetto of California. She also leaves five great-grandchildren, her sister, Betty Jacques of Ticonderoga, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Julie’s family would like to express their deep appreciation and gratitude to the staff and residents of Valley Residential Services in Herkimer for the care and compassion expressed to their family throughout Julie’s time there. Friends and relatives are invited to attend Julie’s funeral services, which will commence on Thursday morning, July 7, 2016, at 10:30AM from Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church in Frankfort, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Father Paul Catena, Pastor. Procession will follow to Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frankfort, where Julie will be laid to rest with her husband, George. It was Julie’s wish that her body be donated to the Albany Medical College Anatomical Gift Program. This was her last selfless act, a unique and priceless gift, which provides the source of knowledge that is the foundation of medical education and research. Julie’s family has entrusted her service arrangements to Martin L. Ciaccia, and Harry and Kevin Enea, Funeral Directors of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion (Town of Frankfort), NY. “The world has lost a wonderful woman…and heaven has gained an angel.”
