Obituary of Joseph Casmir Kubala

LOUISIANA – Mr. Joseph Casimir Kubala, age 85, a longtime resident of Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 6, 2016, in the privacy and comfort of his home. Born on March 2, 1931, in Buffalo, NY, Joseph was the son of the late Casimir and Harriet Kubala. Joseph was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He served his nation for over 24 years, including a tour of active duty in Vietnam, and retired in 1973 as a Senior Master Sergeant. For many years he worked for Martin Marrietta Materials as a quality control inspector for space shuttle fuel tanks, a position from which he retired. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of over 40 years, Mary “Nola” Kubala of Houma, LA; his five children and their spouses, Denise and Bob Newmyer, Joseph S. Kubala, Michael C. Kubala, Heather and Vaughn Luquette, and Mary and Floyd Cuccia; his four grandchildren, Dr. Robert and Ismeldy Newmyer, Lindsay and Jerry Dancho, Cadence Luquette and Kendall Cuccia; and one great-grandson, Thomas Newmyer. He also leaves his siblings, Jean and Edward Mlynarski, Robert “Bobby” and Rusty Kubala, and Camille and Jack Sippel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives are invited to attend Joseph’s graveside service, which will commence at 1:00PM on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at the Mohawk Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest beside his late wife, Eileen (Peff) Kubala. Full military honors will be accorded. For those wishing to do so, in lieu of flowers, please consider donations to your local Hospice Care or to the SPCA Global Animal Rescue.
