MOHAWK - Sharon L. Barrett, 73, a long time resident of the Mohawk Valley, passed away suddenly at Little Falls Hospital on June 16, 2016. Sharon was born on July 13, 1942 at Herkimer Memorial Hospital. She attended Herkimer Schools. Sharon was predeceased by both her parents, Carl and Mary Newman; and her sister, Connie Dallas-Maine. Sharon leaves behind her husband of nine years, Chester Seamon; her beloved children, Robert Hailston and Shelly Allcorn, Cheryl and Brian Lupinski, Letticia Hardy and Richard Hopkinson, Lonnie Hardy and Brett Fullington, Larry Hardy, Anne and John Siriani, David Perry, and Richard and Sheila Perry; 27 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Bobby Newman, Carl Newman, Jr., Millie and Ed Elmandorf, Carol and Chuck Devereese (Barhydt), Shirley Mitchell and late husband, Bob Mitchell, and Patricia Newman; along with several nieces, nephews and extended family. Sharon was active for 17 years in MOVAC as an EMT and extended this training into the medical field. She had a love for fishing and bowling. Her idol was Elvis Presley. Sharon was very proud of her Indian Heritage. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, June 25th, at the Frankfort VFW, from 4-7 PM.
