Obituary of Edward Paul Lovett

Mr. Edward Paul Lovett 65 of 252 Bingham Mills Road, Town of Salisbury, died Wednesday June 22nd 2016 at his residence of natural cause after a brief illness. He was born on November 27, 1950 in Rome, New York the son of Robert E. and Lillian (Henderson) Lovett Sr. and was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. A veteran of the Vietnam War he served in the United States Air Force from May 1969 until he was honorably discharged in May of 1973. He was awarded the following medals for his service, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Medal and the Air Force Medal 900-3. He reenlisted in the United Sates Army in March of 1976 serving again honorably until he was discharged in May of 1980 with the rank of S/Sgt with the Medical Company 498th Battalion. He was awarded the following Army Medals, Expert M-16 Rifle, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Expert Field Medical Badge. He was united in marriage to the former Mary Gearhart on March 17, 1972 in Shickshinny, Pa. They recently celebrated 44 years of marriage. Edward was employed as a Developmental Aide for the New York State DDSO of Rome, New York, retiring from there a few years ago. Surviving is his wife Mary, his Sons Edward P (Jaime) Lovett Jr. of Queensbury, New York, and Paul G. Lovett of Salisbury Center, a brother Timothy J. Lovett of Lake Delta, NY and a Sister Laurie Viola of Rome, NY, his grandchildren Kelsey, Gregory, Ethan, Alyssa, Brayton, Madison and Delaney.
