Obituary of Beverly J. McKinney

Mohawk: Mrs. Beverly J. McKinney, 81, of Mohawk, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2016, at the Folts Home in Herkimer. Beverly was born on November 29, 1934 in Ilion, a daughter of the late Gordon and Arlene (Reynolds) Fike. She was a graduate of Mohawk High School. On August 13, 1955, she married her sweetheart, Herbert L. McKinney, in Blessed Sacrament Church in Mohawk. They shared a blessed union of 57 years until Herbert’s passing in 2012. At one time Mrs. McKinney was a Bank Teller with the Oneida National Bank in Mohawk. She was a long time parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church. Beverly is survived by her sons, Paul McKinney and his wife, Sandra, of Rome and James McKinney and his wife, Debbie, of Dolgeville; her granddaughter, Kate McKinney, and her grandsons, Kolten McKinney, Cody Bly, Connor McKinney, and Joel Wellenstein McKinney; her brothers, Francis Fike and his wife, Ellen, and William Fike and his wife, Linda, all of Herkimer; her sisters, Carol Crisino of Mohawk and Barbara Gilbert of Herkimer;and her sister in-law, Gloria Bunce of Herkimer; along with many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a special family friend, Dan Belgrader. She was predeceased by her sister Rose “Pat” Currie and her brother Gordon Fike. Friends and relatives are invited to attend Beverly's visitation, which will take place on Thursday, June 30, 2016, from 4:00PM - 8:00PM from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion (Town of Frankfort) NY 13357 (315) 894-8000. A graveside service for Beverly will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 10:00AM at the Mohawk Cemetery, with Sister Mary Jo Tallman officiating. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial contributions in Beverly’s memory to the Alzheimer Association, 441 West Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204.
