FRANKFORT - Ms. Connie J. Sobolewski, age 77, of the Village of Frankfort, passed away peacefully, on Thursday morning, June 30, 2016, at Valley Health Services in Herkimer. Born on July 17, 1938 in Kansas, Connie was the daughter of the late Joseph and Zelma (Shaffer) Svirbely. She was educated in Sharon, Pennsylvania and went on to receive her Associate’s Degree from Mohawk Valley Community College. Connie’s working years were spent at various locales throughout the Mohawk Valley. She was employed with GE, ICL, Class Computers, Prisma Systems, Slocum Dickson Phlebotomy Department and Melrose Market in Frankfort. Most recently, she worked for Meals on Wheels, delivering food to those in need. Connie was a well renowned and award-winning painter. She was the first artist recognized at Meet the Artist of the Mohawk Antique Mall. She absolutely loved garage sales and antiquing and was a gift of joy to her family; forever to be remembered for her loving, selfless and caring ways. Connie leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Kris and Mike Wilson of Frankfort; her son, Gary Sobolewski of Florida; her grandchildren, Cheri and Matt, Michael, Christopher, Tyler and Caleb; two great-grandchildren, Makayla and Caycee; her sisters, Diane, Jackie and Judy; her brother, Joey; and a special friend, Tony. Besides her parents, Connie was predeceased by her sister, Bonnie. In keeping with Connie’s wishes, her family chose to bid their farewells in a private gathering. Her family would like to thank the nurses, therapists and entire staff of Valley Health Services for the kindness and care provided to her throughout her stay.
