Obituary of Theresa J. (Schilingo) Polley

FRANKFORT – Theresa J. (Schilingo) Polley, of Frankfort, NY was comforted at the time of her passing in the arms of her daughter Linda on Sunday July 3, 2016. She joined the Lord peacefully at the Pines of Utica at the age of 74. Linda’s strength in assisting her mom; especially during the last few difficult days, was truly a source of inspiration and will always be remembered. She was born on November 29, 1941 in Ilion, NY, a daughter of the late Victor and Josephine (Giambrone) Schilingo and attended Ilion and Frankfort schools. From the early 1970’s until her retirement in 2002, Theresa worked with P & C Markets, namely within the cashier and meat departments. She absolutely loved flowers and shopping and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and family, all of whom she so dearly loved. She was formerly married to and is survived by Earl Polley of Ilion, her beloved family: her son Earl Polley and his wife Janie and their children Brittany and Jonathon of Ilion, her daughters, Linda Zellwager and her daughter Amber of Ilion, and Cynthia Maneen and her husband Thomas and their children Tommy and Nicky of Frankfort, her two sisters, Josephine Fetterly and her husband Howard of Ilion, and Vicky Schilingo of Frankfort, as well as her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Frances and Larry Retzloff of Ilion. She is also survived by her best friend Joanne Palumbo and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Joseph. Funeral services will be held on Friday July 8, 2016 at 10:00 AM from The Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion (Town of Frankfort) NY (315) 894-8000 under the direction of Harry and Kevin Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia, Funeral Directors. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frankfort. Calling hours at the funeral home are on Thursday, July 7th from 4 until 7 PM. Those wishing to remember Theresa in a special way are asked to consider a donation to the Alzheimer Association of CNY. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. The family extends a very special thank you to the staff of the Pines at Utica, with particular mention to the 3rd Floor.
