Obituary of Harold H. Mickle

ILION - Harold H. Mickle, 87, a long time Ilion resident, went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, Ga. Born in Herkimer, Harold was the son of the late Perry and Veronica Mickle. He was raised and educated in Herikmer schools. In his earlier years, he was married to Evelyn Ottaviano whose relationship led to the blessings of their 2 children, Gale And Mark Mickle. In 1955, he married Helen Moyer who led to the blessing of their daughter, Susan Mickle Lasher. Harold worked and retired from both Univac and Remington Arms and as anyone that knew him, was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife, Helen, of Madison, FL.; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Deborah Mickle of Lee, FL. whom he was living with before his death; and daughter, Gale Mickle of Utica, NY.; and predeceased daughter, Susan Mickle Lasher; his beloved grandchildren, Richard Capirci and Corey Sherwood of Utica, N.Y.; Matthew Lasher and his wife, Kristi of Napa, Ca.; Michael Lasher of Ilion, NY; and Chad Mickle and his wife, Bianka of Lee, FL.; as well as 3 cherished great-grandchildren. He also leaves a predeceased brother, Perry Mickle, Jr. along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by a cousin who was raised as his brother, Claude Orcutt and his wife, Rita, with their children: daughter, Claudia Gloo and her husband, Steven, of Herkimer; Cindy Rhymestine and her husband, Richard, of Herkimer; son, Daniel Orcutt and his wife, Mary Sue of Herkimer; and son, Matthew Orcutt of Herkimer. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Oak Hill Cemetery, in Herkimer New York.
