Obituary of Kay T. Blasting

HERKIMER: Kay T. Blasting, 78, of Herkimer, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August, 18, 2016 at Mohawk Valley Health Care Center, Ilion. Kay was born in Canajoharie, NY on September 8, 1937, the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy (Buddles) Trumble. She was a graduate of Canajoharie High School. Her marriage to Ralph J. Blasting took place in Herkimer, the couple sharing a committed and blessed union. Kay was last employed by Achievements in Albany as an Executive Assistant. She was a member of the Herkimer Lady Elks and Saints Anthony and Joseph Parish of Herkimer. She is survived by her beloved husband, Ralph; her children, Luanne Murphy and husband Richard of Highland, IL, Ralph J. Blasting, Jr. and wife Laurie of Fredonia, James Blasting and wife Susan of Fayetteville, Jeffery Helmer and wife Carin of Charlotte, NC, Tami Callister and husband James of Latham, Anthony G. Blasting and wife Teresa of Kenmore, NY, Matthew Blasting of Seneca, PA, Scott Blasting and wife Pam of Schenectady, Maria Waufle and husband Bernie of Herkimer and Anne Butler and husband John of Latham. She also leaves many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, August 22, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Enea Family Funeral Home (F.K.A. Holleran Funeral Service), 220 N. Washington Street, Herkimer, NY (315)866-1011. Kay’s Funeral service will take place on Tuesday morning, August 23, 2016 beginning with prayer at 8:30 AM from the chapel of the funeral home and at 9:00 AM at Sts. Anthony & Joseph Parish, South Main Street Herkimer where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by The Reverend Quy Vo, Pastor. Procession will follow to Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer where she will be laid to rest. In lieu for floral arrangements, donations in Kay’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The Blasting Family is being cared for by Harry J. and Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors.
