Obituary of Amelia B Pupchek

LITTLE FALLS – Amelia “Millie” Pupchek passed into eternal life at her daughter’s home on Thursday morning, September 1, 2016. She was 97 years old. Born on January 1, 1919 in Herkimer, NY, she was the daughter of Joachim and Agnes (Gaborski) Politylo. She was educated in Herkimer schools. On July 9, 1949 Millie married John Pupchek and moved to Little Falls where she has resided for sixty-seven years. Millie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Family was very important to her. Millie also enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading and following the daily events in the political arena. She was employed for a number of years at Lurie’s Department Store where she enjoyed interacting with the customers. Survivors include one daughter, Barbara (Michael) Sanders of Saugerties, NY; three grandsons: Douglas (Ashley) of Saugerties, NY; David of Colonie, NY and Jonathan of Chicago, IL; three great-grandchildren; Riley, Jackson and Savannah. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In addition to her husband John, she was predeceased by her sisters Helen Vogel and Stella Finkle and a brother John Politylo, as well as a niece Carol Vogel and a great-nephew and godson, Bill Vogel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday September 6, 2016 at 10:30 AM from The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street in Little Falls, NY and at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish corner of East Main & John Streets, Little Falls. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Rev. Terence Healy, Pastor assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday morning at the funeral home from 9:30 until 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation to their favorite charity in Millie’s memory. The funeral arrangements are with Funeral Directors Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea (315) 823-2424.
