HERKIMER – Cynthia “Cindy” L. Jenkins, age 58, of Henry St., Herkimer, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 24, 2016. She was born on July 18, 1958, in Herkimer, the daughter of Robert Eugene Carter and Judi Goering Carter. Cindy graduated from Poland Central School and St. Elizabeth’s School of Radiology. She was previously married to Paul Jenkins. Cindy was an X-Ray technician for several years, working for Dr. DeJesus and various local hospitals. She enjoyed the beach and shopping. Cindy loved being with her family. Surviving family members include her son, Jake Jenkins and his wife, Nicole, of Herkimer; her daughter, Brooke Jenkins, of Liverpool, NY; her grandson, Jace Jenkins; her mother, Judi Butler, of Mohawk; her sisters, Christy Laurin and her husband, Ken, of Texas, and Kathleen Stalker and her husband, Harold, of Holland Patent; her brothers, Steven Carter, of Herkimer, David Carter, of Mohawk, and Richard Waterbury and his wife, Deanna, of Remsen; her aunt, Phyllis Waterbury and her husband, Floyd, of Poland; several nieces and nephews, including Lexi Carter, Cooper Laurin and Griffin Laurin, all of Texas, Joshua and Erica Carter, of Cold Brook, and James Reisel; several cousins; and her close friends, Jackie Abeling, Robert “Stretch” Smith and Dianna Learned. She was predeceased by her grandmother, Jane Johnson; her brother, Michael Carter; and her sister, Francine Butler. Visitation will be held Friday, September 30, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 5;00 p.m. at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s original location at 102 West St., Ilion. Cindy’s Celebration of Life and Prayer service will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016, at 5:00 p.m., immediately following the visitation at the funeral home at 102 West St., Ilion, with Deacon Jim Bower officiating.
