Obituary of Angie Romano

LITTLE FALLS-Angie Romano, 96, of Little Falls, passed away on October 14, 2016, in Victor, NY at the home of her son Dr. James Romano, where she has resided for the past thirteen years. Angie was born in Little Falls, NY in 1920, the daughter of the late Vito and Concetta Rizzi. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School Class of 1938 where she graduated with honors. She was united in marriage to Peter Romano in 1942 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Little Falls, NY celebrating 61 years together before her husband’s death in 2003. Angie was formerly employed at the Boston Store of Little Falls having worked there for over 25 years, until her retirement. She enjoyed the company of her co-workers as well as taking care of the many regular patrons of the store. Her friendly face and warm personality brought smiles to those she encountered there over the years. She is survived by her two sons, Peter (Peggy) Romano, Jr. of Little Falls, NY and Dr. James Romano of Victor NY, her primary caregiver since the death of her husband, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Anne Etue of Toledo, OH, and brothers Martin Rizzi of New Brunswick, NJ and Patrick Rizzi of Little Falls, NY. While living in Victor, NY she enjoyed the love and friendship of some very special people, namely: Phyllis and Sandy Kravetz, the Elaine Weinberg family and the John & Mary Curran family. These individuals helped to make the past thirteen years of her life happy and enjoyable celebrating many good times and special occasions together. A special thanks to Trisha Leclair for her daytime assistance and companionship during the past three years. Relatives and friends are asked to pay their respects at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 10:15 AM from funeral home and at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish Church, corner of East Main & John Streets in Little Falls where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by The Reverend Terence Healy. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 5661 State Highway 5, Herkimer, NY immediately after the funeral service. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Angie Romano be made to the Holy Family Parish, 763 East Main Street, Little Falls, NY 13365. Angie's funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Harry J. and Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors.
