LITTLE FALLS-Mr. Thomas J. Stack, Sr., formerly of 312 West Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY died on October 16, 2016. Born in Little Falls on August 17, 1927, Tom was the son of the late Thomas P. and Margaret Donnelly Stack. He was proud to serve his country as a Navy veteran. He graduated from Saint Mary’s Academy in 1945. Tom was united in marriage on May 31, 1948 to Mary Modryan, the love of his life, at Saint Mary’s Church in Little Falls. Mary passed away on January 18, 2007. Tom was a member of Holy Family Parish in Little Falls and its men’s club; a life member of the Knights of Columbus, life member of the Little Falls Elks Club, member of the Little Falls American Legion and member of the DeCarlo Staffo Post. He also served on the Little Falls Police and Fire Board for a number of years. Tom was employed by Gregg Appliance for over 45 years in Herkimer and became the President of the corporation for a number of years. He was a charter member of Honey Hill Golf Course, now Newport Golf Club, and a member of its Monday night golf league. Tom is survived by his family, whom he loved very much. He leaves his son, David and Christine of Saratoga Springs, NY; his daughter, Barbara and Stanley Gaworecki of Houston, TX; his son, Thomas and Elaine of Ballston Lake, NY; his son, Kenneth and Kim of Albany, NY; his son Richard and Cathy of Franklin Lakes, NJ; his daughter, Mary and John Covert of Charlotte, NC; his daughter, Donna and Bernard Janeczko of Clifton Park, NY; eighteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Tom was predeceased by his brother, Bernard Stack and wife Margaret; his brother, Lee Stack and wife Kristine, and his sister, Jean Marineau and husband Claude “Frenchie”. Tom loved to play cards with his family and friends as part of a life well-lived! We are blessed to have had him with us for 89 years. The family would like to thank Dr. David Mastrianni and Dr. Michael Ortiz, as well as Saratoga Hospital for their compassion in taking care of Dad. Thomas’ funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Friday morning, October 21, 2016 at 10:15AM from the funeral home and at 11:00Am at Holy Family Parish Church, corner of East Main & John Streets in Little Falls, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Mark Reamer, OFM. Procession will follow to St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer, where Tom will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Mary. Full military honors will be accorded by the United States Navy.
