Obituary of Kathleen Detraglia-Fresco
ILION – Mrs. Kathleen “Kathy” DeTraglia-Fresco, age 71, of East North Street in Ilion, passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, October 17, 2016, in the privacy and comfort of her home.
Born on May 28, 1945, Kathleen was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary (Stefanini) DeTraglia. She was wed to Joseph V. Fresco on June 23, 1995, and the couple shared in a loving union of over twenty-one years, caring for one another in every way.
Kathy worked as a Housekeeper with the Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center in Utica for twenty-seven years; a position from which she retired. In her spare time, she loved nothing more than the company of her family and friends at their many gatherings and festivities.
As Kathleen’s battle with Parkinson’s progressed, she vowed to not let it get the best of her. She was meticulous in keeping her clean home, walked regularly to stay active and was fond of spending time shopping with her loved ones. She enjoyed her time spent at the Presbyterian Home’s adult day care and devoted to her Catholic faith.
Kathy is survived by her devoted husband, Joe; her daughters Zulma DeTraglia and her companion, Bill, and Mary DeTraglia and her companion, Tommy, all of Utica; her sons and daughters-in-law, Duamel and Lisa DeTraglia of East Syracuse and Ramiro and Emily DeTraglia of New Hartford; her grandchildren, Duamel DeTraglia, Kayla DeTraglia and Ramiro DeTraglia; her great-grandchildren, Joel, Gabriella, Gabriel, and Jayden; her sister, Ann Marie DeTraglia of Baltimore, MD; as well as several in-laws and many friends.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend Kathy’s visitation, which will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016, from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at the Enea and Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion (Town of Frankfort), NY (315) 894-8000.
Kathy’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday morning, October 22, 2016, at 10:00AM from the chapel of the funeral home, with Deacon James Bower officiating. Procession will follow to Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frankfort, where Kathy’s earthly remains will be laid to rest.
