LITTLE FALLS – Michelene T. “Miki” Husar, entered the arms of her Lord on Wednesday October 26, 2016 at Little Falls Hospital. She was born on November 24, 1946 in New York City to parents the late Michael and Frances (Shwaykoski) Husar. Miki graduated from Hunter College in New York in 1968 and continued her education to receive her Master’s Degree in Special Education from SUNY New Paltz. She moved to Little Falls in 1971. Miki was an art teacher at St. Mary’s Academy in Little Falls and then the Utica School System until her retirement in 2014. She was a member of Holy Family Parish where she was a Eucharistic Minister and used her creative talents as a part of the church decorating committee. This brought her great joy. She was also a member of the Mohawk Valley Choral Society. She is survived by her sister Marianne McGovern (Joseph) of Princeton Junction, New Jersey; her brother Michael Husar (BJ) of Fairport, New York; her aunt, Stephanie Pontius of Little Falls, her nieces Christina and Erin McGovern; nephews Ryan McGovern, and Matthew and Jonathan Husar and cousins. The family thanks the Good Samaritans of Price Chopper for their selfless acts of kindness, the Little Falls EMT and Police force and the Doctors and Nurses at Little Falls Hospital for their compassionate care. We would also like to extend our sincerest appreciation to Miki’s many friends and neighbors and even local businesses who have been ever so kind in their support. Her memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday November 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish, corner of East Main and John Streets in Little Falls, with Father Anthony Ligato officiating. Her final resting place will be in Assumption Church Columbarium in Fairport, NY, at a time convenient to her family. In lieu of floral offerings, it is the wish of the family that a donation in memory of Miki Husar be considered to the Holy Family Parish in Little Falls.
