CANAJOHARIE – Mrs. Sally Swartz, age 84, passed away surrounded with the love of her family on Friday December 16, 2016 at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam, NY. The family is grateful for the care received, especially from the 4th Floor Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born on April 11, 1932 in Gloversville, NY, a daughter of the late Harold B. and Nelly Mae (White) Mitchell. She attended school in Johnstown and graduated from Canajoharie High School. She was married to Claude Luther Swartz on June 24, 1950. She loved to travel and spent many enjoyable winters in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She is survived by her husband, Claude, her children, Carrie (Kenneth) Person of Fort Plain, Charles (Donna) Swartz of Georgia, and Brian (Heather) Swartz of Canajoharie, 12 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Harold F. Mitchell, of Broadalbin, NY, and a niece and a nephew. She was predeceased by her son Claude L. “Larry” Swartz. There are no services.
