Obituary of Elizabeth A. Weston

FRANKFORT – Elizabeth A. “Liz” Weston, age 52, a lifelong Mohawk Valley resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2017, at the Little Falls Hospital, after a brief illness. Born on April 5, 1964, Elizabeth is the daughter of Walter Weston and the late Joan Ann (Boardman) Weston. She was raised and educated in Frankfort, and was a graduate with the Class of 1982. She went on to further her studies at Utica College where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. It was after her schooling that Liz was blessed to become a mother to twins, Adam and Amanda. Her first and foremost priority was to care for her children. She was devoted to the well-being of her daughter through life’s many challenges, and was fiercely proud of her son and his accomplishments. A piece of her heart went to Heaven on July 8, 2011, when her daughter passed, and her family takes comfort that the two are now together, again. Liz was a woman who enjoyed the beauty in the world around her. She was a lover of nature and nothing gave her more joy than being outdoors, fishing, gardening or caring for her animals. She had a creative and artistic mind and enjoyed reading, drawing and travelling. She had a great sense of humor and was a fan of the supernatural and horror movies. For the last five years, Liz was employed with the Herkimer Area Resource Center, where she served as a Direct Support Professional, and was privileged to serve and care for those who needed her. Her kind heart and loving demeanor will never be forgotten. Survivors include her son, Adam DiBrango, and his wife, Caitlyn, of Guilford, NY; her father, Walt Weston of Frankfort; her siblings, Bob, Chris, Tammy and Faith; her niece, Tessa; nephews, Taylor, Josh and Jake; and special friends, Sandy Tuzzolino and Brandy Vogel. She was predeceased by her mother, Joan, and her daughter, Amanda. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, January 20, 2017, from 4:00PM – 7:00PM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion (Town of Frankfort) NY (315) 894-8000. Liz’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence at 7:00PM, immediately upon the conclusion of calling hours. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 100 Lomond Court, Utica, NY 13502. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff of the Little Falls Hospital, for the care and compassion shown to Liz throughout the final days of her journey. All service arrangements have been entrusted to Martin L. Ciaccia and Harry and Kevin Enea, Funeral Directors. Online notes of sympathy may be left at www.eneafamily.com.
