Obituary of Evelyn E. (Sabin) Coniguliaro

ILION – Ms. Evelyn E. (Sabin) Coniguliaro, age 76, currently of Ilion and formerly of Herkimer and Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, January 24, 2017. Her passing occurred in the comforts of her daughter’s home, surrounded by the love and support of her devoted family by her bedside. Born on October 27, 1940, in Guilford, NY, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Edwin and Areita (Kingsley) Sabin. She was raised and educated in Fabius, NY, and attended local schools there. At one time, she shared in a marriage with the late Mr. William Rivenburgh, Sr., and, together, they created a family. Evelyn was a hardworking woman and she spent her career as a hairdresser in Cazenovia and Nelson, NY. Her first and foremost priority, however, was always the well-being of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed keeping in touch with them through the years, and as she aged, she would use her iPad to keep them all within her fingertips. In her spare time, Evelyn was an avid reader who enjoyed a good book. She also volunteered of herself to the Herkimer VFW as a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary. Survivors include her children, William Rivenburgh and his wife, Dana, of Frankfort, Brenda O’Connor, of Ilion, Judith Rivenburgh and Albert Doolen, of Herkimer, and Daniel Rivenburgh and his wife, Liz, of Waukee, Iowa; her grandchildren, Heather Rose and husband, Jeremy, Amy Rivenburgh and wife, Maida Ferraes, Stephanie Hunter and husband, Colby, Tiffany Rivenburgh, Billie Rivenburgh, Rachel Doolen, Albert Doolen and wife, Melody, Amanda Crain and husband, Loren, Abigail Rivenburgh and Will Rivenburgh; as well as several great-grandchildren. She also leaves her brothers, Fred Sabin, of Florida, Paul Sabin, of McGraw, NY, Ronnie Sabin, of Syracuse, and Ray Sabin, of Virgil,NY, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her son-in-law, Kevin O’Connor, and six brothers, Leroy Sabin, Edwin Sabin, Jr., Kenneth Sabin, Norman Sabin, Ernest Sabin and William Sabin. Friends and relatives are invited to attend Evelyn’s calling hours on Saturday afternoon, January 28, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s original location at 102 West Street, Ilion, NY (315) 895-7722. Members of the Herkimer VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary are asked to gather at 2:30 p.m. for their ritualistic service. Evelyn’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence at 3:00 p.m., immediately upon the conclusion of visitation, with Rev. Robert Wollaber, Pastor of the Morning Star United Methodist Church of Ilion and Frankfort, officiating. Spring interment will take place in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frankfort. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial contributions in Evelyn’s name to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Evelyn’s funeral arrangements and supervision have been entrusted to her Family Funeral Director, Don Applegate, and Funeral Director, Martin L.
