BURLINGTON FLATS – Mr. John T. James, 89, of Burlington Flats, passed on March 8, 2017 at Valley Health Services in Herkimer where he had been a resident for a short time. John was born at home on Angel Hill in Exeter, NY on December 27, 1927 to the late Arnold and Florence (Seifried) James. John went completely blind at age 17and was almost completely deaf but was the most cheerful kind and caring man you would ever want to meet. He sang and played guitar and was known as John, the Blind Singer, on Radio Station WRUN many years ago. He is survived by his brother, Lynn James and nephew Richard Harris both of Burlington Flats, a niece Karen Charles of Little Falls, a cousin Norma Zumsteg of Wilmington, Delaware and several great nephews and one great niece. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Evelyn, and a sister, Doris. There are no calling hours and a graveside service is planned for Monday May 15, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Burlington Flats Cemetery.
