Obituary of Assunda M. Crimmins

MOHAWK- Mrs. Assunda “Sue” M. Crimmins, age 93, passed away on Friday April 21, 2017, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare.

 

Sue was born August 14, 1923 in Little Falls, the daughter of the late Theodore and Pasquelina (Brienzza) Ciano. She was educated in Little Falls schools and married Donald W. Crimmins, on April 1, 1950 in Detroit, MI. of which they celebrated a loving marriage until his passing on September 12, 1992. Sue was last employed by the Syracuse City School District.

 

Beloved “Nana Sue” will be remembered fondly for her limitless generosity and indomitable spirit. Unwavering in her faith, she lived her life with strength and grace. Nana loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing and organizing. Quick with a compliment, a helping hand to those in need or advice to set you straight, Nana Sue touched the hearts of all she encountered. And now it is our time to sing, “We hate to see you go!”

 

Survivors include a son Donald Crimmins II and Carol Casanova of Ilion, and daughter Maureen Schlachter of Syracuse; grandchildren Anne and Don Shick, Rebecca Teall, Chris Teall, Carrie Anne Crimmins and Barry Keaton, Kelly Ann Cirelli and Chris Jones, Robert Schlachter, Kimberly Schlachter; 13 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a son in-law John Teall. She was predeceased by a daughter Donna Teall and grandson Donald ‘Don” Crimmins, her sisters, Antoinette Rusin and Rose Ciano, Felicia Kuhn, Margaret Courtney, and Josephine Netti; brothers Lawrence, Patsy, and Rocco Ciano.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 12:00PM with Fr. Paul Catena officiating.
