Obituary of Carmen J Green

ILION - Mr. Carmen J. Green, age 65, currently of Ilion, and formerly of Frankfort and Denver, CO, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, May 10, 2017, in the privacy and comfort of his home.

Carmen was born on February 26, 1952 in Ilion, NY the son of the late Dominick "Shaeffer" and Mary (DeLucco) Green.   He was raised and educated locally and was a graduate from Frankfort-Schuyler High School. After leaving Frankfort, Carmen settled in Denver, Colorado, and went to work for the Denver Press Club. He thoroughly enjoyed his position there, and played an integral part in supporting their mission to educate and promote journalism.

Carmen was a quiet man with a beautiful smile who was talented in the kitchen and in his spare time enjoyed boxing and poker. He was well-liked by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and will be sorely missed by his many friends and family.

He is survived by his siblings and their families, Barbara and Ed Ashton of Ilion, and their children, Edward and Nicole Ashton of Syracuse and Dr. John and Dr. Jennifer Ashton and Carmen's great niece, Micah of Rochester; Joseph and Karolinn Green and their son, Taylor of Novato, CA; and many cousins and special friends.  He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Beverly Ann Green and a special niece, Dana Lourdes Ashton. 
 

A special "Thank You" to Carmen's friends, Mario and Carla Pumilio, Nick Sylvester, Jim DeRollo and Rose Mitchell and the ladies at the Prindle Apartments who helped in watching over Carmen.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend Carmen's visitation which will take place on Saturday, June 10, 2017  from 11:00 AM to 12:00 NOON at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000.  His funeral service will commence at 12 NOON, immediately upon the conclusion of visitation, officiated by Deacon James Bower. Interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
