Obituary of Connie T. Casullo
LITTLE FALLS: Connie T. Casullo, age 91, a lifelong Little Falls resident, went home to the Lord on Saturday morning, May 20, 2017 at the Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by the love and support of her family by her side.
Born on February 21, 1926, Connie was the daughter of the late Anthony and Marie (Cardillo) DeNitto. She was raised and educated locally, attending Little Falls Schools. During her working years, Connie was a manager with the F.W. Woolworth Company in Little Falls; and was also their window decorator, at one time creating a special tribute to all WWII veterans from Little Falls.
Connie lived her life with unconditional love for her family and friends. She had a love for nature and enjoyed rides in the country, looking at the animals, birds and flowers. She collected baby blankets for “Babies in Need” and over the years, collected and donated over sixteen thousand blankets. Reading, playing cards and baking were other hobbies that she enjoyed and holiday gatherings were her favorite. But most important to her was spending time traveling with her daughter and son-in-law (whom was like a son to her) and any time that she could spend with her grandchildren. An exceptionally special, kind lady to all that knew her, Connie will be missed.
She is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Charles Slabe of Little Falls; her devoted and cherished grandsons, John Slabe and his companion, Lisa Hoke and Jeff Slabe and his companion, Shelly Flanders, all of Little Falls; and her sisters, Nettie Volpe of Rome and Dena Collis of Little Falls. Connie also leaves a special friend, Claire “Pip” Noonan and many special nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Chris DeNitto; and her sisters, Mary Frederico and Lucy Verri.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend Connie’s visitation which will take place on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY (315)823-2424. Her funeral service will commence at 11:30 AM, immediately upon the conclusion of visitation at the funeral home and will be officiated by The Reverend Father Steven A. Scarcia, D. Min., Rector of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, town of Herkimer.
In lieu of floral arrangements, donations can be made in Connie’s memory to Lilah’s Foster House (Animal Rescue), PO Box 961, Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Connie’s family wishes to thank the entire staff of the Alpine, for the love and excellent care they showed to her throughout her stay; as well as to her many friends and relatives who did so much for Connie and the entire Slabe family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry J. and Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors. To leave a message of condolence, please visit www.eneafamily.com.
