Obituary of Marie S. (Balducci) Mullenax

LITTLE FALLS – Mrs. Marie S. (Balducci) Mullenax, age 78, of State Route 167, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, June 7, 2017, at the Pines of Utica.

Born on February 11, 1939, Marie was the daughter of the late John and Susie (Aquasanti) Balducci. She spent the greater part of her life in Little Falls and attended local schools. For many years she was employed in the laundry department at Little Falls Hospital. At one time she was married to the late Leland J. Avery, whom she shared a special friendship with. On August 19, 1996, Marie was joined in marriage to the late Mr. Robert L. Mullenax, and the two shared in a seven-year union until Robert’s passing on September 30, 2013.

In her spare time, Marie was a collector of antiques and enjoyed trying her luck at pull-tabs, trips to the casino, and playing cards with her friends and family.

She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Grainer and companion, Chris DeCicco of Fabius, Charlene Link and husband, Frank of Dolgeville, and Penni Rannals and husband, Jed of Oklahoma; her son, Dave Richards and wife, Connie of Oklahoma; her stepsons, Lee Avery, Kevin Avery, Skip Avery and Don Avery; her brother, Nick Balducci of Little Falls; her sisters, Georgette Gregorka and Nancy Wilcox, both of Little Falls; several stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Marie was predeceased by her grandson, Lee Kuchman, earlier this year.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend Marie’s calling hours which will take place on Monday, June 12, 2017, from 9:00AM – 11:00AM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY (315) 823-2424. Her funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Monday morning at 11:00AM at the funeral home, immediately upon the conclusion of visitation, officiated by Deacon James Bower. Procession will follow to Newport Cemetery, where Marie will be laid to rest with her husband, Robert.

Marie’s funeral arrangements and supervision have been entrusted to Harry and Kevin Enea, Funeral Directors of the Enea Family Funeral Homes.
