Obituary of Linda L. (Fiedler) Given

ILION/HERKIMER – Mrs. Linda L. (Fiedler) Given, passed away on Wednesday evening, July 19, 2017, just two days shy of her 67th birthday.

Born on July 21, 1950, Linda was the daughter of the late Theodore and Charlotte (Boggess) Fiedler. On November 8, 1982, Linda was wed to the late Mark Given of Syracuse, and the two shared sixteen years together, until Mark’s untimely passing in 1998. Although their last residence together was in Ilion, the two were best known for their many years living in Salisbury Center, where they worshipped at Full Gospel Assembly of God. Linda served in various positions at the church, including that of Youth Leader, making creative missions displays and singing.

Linda and Mark enjoyed camping each summer at Moffitt Beach in Speculator with their friends “Lil and Pip.” For many years, Linda assisted her husband at trade shows and at the annual Boonville Field Days, where they represented their business, Given’s Small Engine Repair. Later, she was employed with the Herkimer ARC as a Direct Support Professional, helping those with disabilities. Linda loved butterflies, making and selling various items at craft shows; and enjoyed attending garage sales.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Eugene D. Smith, and Patrick M. and Teri Smith, daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Chris Siemonidis; her grandchildren, Robecca, Joseph, Taylor, Matthew, Lilly, Brittany, Dante and Chris; her great-grandchildren, Caleb, Callie and Kaylina; her brother Robert Fiedler; her sister Amy Harvey; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents and husband, Linda was predeceased by her sisters, Rosemary Waterman, Dorothy Nestle, and Barbara Cristman; and her daughter-in-law, Amelia Smith.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend Linda’s visitation, which will take place on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 3:00PM – 4:00PM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion, Town of Frankfort, NY (315) 894-8000. Linda’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Monday at 4:00PM at the funeral home, immediately upon the conclusion of visitation. Procession will follow to St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Salisbury.

In honor of Linda’s generosity to those in need, please consider memorial contributions to the Compassion Coalition, 509 LaFayette Street, Utica, NY 13502.

Funeral arrangements were pre-arranged and entrusted to Harry and Kevin Enea, and Martin L. Ciaccia, funeral directors. Online notes of sympathy may be left at www.eneafamily.com.
