Obituary of Margaret J. Crimmins

LITTLE FALLS – The family of Margaret J. Crimmins was surrounding her with love on the morning of Thursday July 20, 2017 as she suddenly passed away at the age of 82 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, NY. She was affectionately referred to as “Maggie” throughout the years.

 

She was born July 6, 1935 in Menominee, Michigan, a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Cullen) Ranch. She lived in and went to schools in Wayne, Michigan. Margaret served our country with the United States Navy during the 1950’s. She was married to George F. Crimmins, Jr. on April 7, 1956 and he passed away in 2005. Margaret worked at Little Falls Hospital for over 25 years, particularly as a Ward Secretary. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish and the Rosary Society. Maggie was an avid power-walker and thoroughly enjoyed reading.

 

She was a devoted mom, granny and great-grandma, and is survived by her beloved family, her children, Keith Crimmins and his wife Julie of Adams, NY, George Crimmins, III and his wife Kathy of Big Flatts, NY, Elizabeth Sheldon and her husband Greg of Norwich, NY, Cathleen Alexander of Houston, Texas, Eileen M. Richard and her husband James of St. Johnsville, NY, Trish Flynn and her husband Jim of Syracuse, NY, Diane Crimmins of Little Falls, NY, and Lynn M. Claus and her husband Chad of Oppenheim, NY; a sister Patricia Suyak of Wayne, Michigan, a brother Harry Ranch of Las Vegas, Nevada, her grandchildren, Sarah and Daniel, Megan, Lauri and Brian, Clare, Sean and Danielle, Joshua, Alexandria and Nicholas, Shannon, Riley and Jack, and Nicole, Adam and Abigail; five great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jackson, Cassie, Jacoby, and Zoe Jane, a special brother-in-law, Bruce Crimmins of Little Falls, and many nieces, nephews and cousins and a special friend from Alpine, Sierra.

 

Her arrangements have been planned with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street in Little Falls, NY and have been decided upon the following times: Calling hours at the funeral home will be on Monday July 24th from 5 until 7 PM. On Tuesday, July 25th her funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM at the funeral home chapel where the Rite of Transference and prayer will be offered. We will then process to Holy Family Parish, corner of East Main & John Streets in Little Falls for the 11:00 AM Funeral Mass offered by Father Terence Healy and assisted by Deacon Joseph DeLorenzo. Following the Mass all are invited to the Church Hall.

 

It is the wish of the family that in lieu of floral offerings donations be considered to the American Cancer Society, 100 Lomond Court, Suite 6, Utica, NY 13502. Envelopes are available at the funeral home for this purpose. A very special thank you is extended to all those who offered compassionate care toward Margaret, with special mention to the staff of ICU and 4th Floor, Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown; as well as her friends and caregivers at Alpine Nursing and Rehabilitation, Little Falls, NY.
