Obituary of Jay Steven Bucenec

LITTLE FALLS – In Little Falls, NY on Tuesday July 25, 2017 at age 73, Mr. Jay Steven Bucenec passed away peacefully. In honor and respect of his wishes, there are no calling hours. There is a graveside full military funeral service planned for Friday July 28, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Church Street Cemetery in Little Falls. The Rev. Chris J. Wintermute, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Little Falls will lead us in prayer. There will be full military honors accorded after the prayer service.

 

He was born on December 1, 1943 in Little Falls, NY a son of the late Steven and Herberta “Bertie” (Brown) Bucenec. He was a graduate of Little Falls schools, and served our country with the United States Army leading up to the Vietnam era, an authorized Sharpshooter. He was married to the former Linda Casadonte. Jay retired from the City of Little Falls where he had worked for many years with the DPW Department. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Jay was a longtime proud member of the Little Falls American Legion Post #31.

 

He is survived by his wife, Linda, his children, Tammi Jaye Bucenec of West Hempstead, NY, Steven Jay Bucenec and Jessica of Little Falls, and Jesse Bucenec and Erika of Little Falls, his grandchildren, Annalea Katherine, Jay Steven, Molly Lynn, his beloved granddaughter Stevie Dawn who had preceded him in death on May 19, 2005, and grandchildren Michael Jesse, Maxwell Luke, Jase Anthony, and Gabriel “Pete,” and his brother James Bucenec of Little Falls, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
