Obituary of David B. "Dave" Maneen
FRANKFORT – Mr. David B. “Dave” Maneen, age 53, a lifelong Frankfort resident, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday afternoon, August 17, 2017.
Born on September 22, 1963, David is the son of Clara (Guerrieri) Maneen and the late Baldassario “Baldy” Maneen. He was raised and educated in Frankfort, graduating with the Frankfort-Schuyler Class of 1982. For many years, Dave was an auto mechanic for various dealerships throughout the Mohawk Valley and was an avid car enthusiast. More recently, Dave was employed by the Remington Arms Co. in Ilion as a machinist.
Dave was a kind, caring and giving man with a heart of gold. Selfless by nature, he would do anything for those that he loved. His easy-going personality attracted many friends who he formed many close bonds with throughout his life. He enjoyed the game of golf, fishing, camping, and generally just being outdoors; and was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Dave’s greatest role in life, however, was that of being a father. He was extremely proud of his daughter, Malorie, and all her accomplishments, and nothing gave him more joy than watching her grow into being a beautiful young woman.
Dave is survived by his daughter, Malorie G. Maneen and her boyfriend, Michael Pelletier of Ballston Spa; his mother, Clara Maneen of Frankfort; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and David Jung of Colonie, and Jackie and Stan Miller of Scotia; his nieces and nephews, Michael Jung, Lisa Jung, Samantha Miller and Kyle Miller; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and his best friends, Tim Laura and John Palmieri.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours which will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, from 4:00PM – 7:00PM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000. David’s funeral service will commence on Thursday morning, August 24, 2017, at 9:30AM at the funeral home and at 10:30AM at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church in Frankfort where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Francis Vivacqua. Interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at the convenience of his family, where he will be laid to rest with his father.
For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial contributions to the Herkimer County Humane Society, 514 NY-5s, Mohawk, NY 13407. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
