Obituary of Ronald W. Owens
JORDANVILLE – Ronald W. Owens, age 75, of Main St., Jordanville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 18, 2017, at home.
He was born on January 22, 1942 in Herkimer, the son of William R. and Bertice (Carkey) Owens, and attended Jordanville and Van Hornesville schools. At one time, Ron served in the US Army. Mr. Owens was employed at Coleman Brothers Co. of E. Hartford, CT., setting up and operating amusement rides and games. He attended the Jordanville United Methodist Church. At one time, he assisted and helped operate some local VFW and American Legion Posts.
Surviving family members include his brothers, Edwin Owens and his wife, Patricia, of Mohawk, and Larry Owens and his wife, Martha, of Deerfield; his sister, Deborah Rogers and her husband, Paul, of Jordanville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents.
A Memorial service will be held at 12 noon, on Sunday, September 3, 2017, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s original location at 102 West St., Ilion. Interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Clinton, NY (Town of Kirkland).
Visitation will be held Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon, prior to the service.
