Obituary of Alice M. Tarbox

DOLGEVILLE – Alice M. Tarbox fell asleep in death on Monday morning August 21, 2017 at her home on North Road in the town of Oppenheim.

 

She was born November 20, 1952 in Ilion, NY, daughter of Dorothy (Reid) Mergenthaler (fell asleep in death in 1958) and Lyle “Benny” Mergenthaler (fell asleep in death in 1983). She was a graduate of Herkimer High School, Class of 1970. She married David R. Tarbox on July 4, 1970 at Fort Plain Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Alice dedicated herself to her full time volunteer service as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was a devoted mother and housewife.

 

She is survived by her husband, David, two daughters, Tammie Lynn Avery of Little Falls, and Sherry Anne Brander and her husband Michael of Walden, NY, her brother, Mitch Mergenthaler and his wife Laurie of Raleigh, North Carolina, and her sister, Sandy Climek and her husband Dave of Stittville, NY, her grandchild, Carl W. Ovitt, III, and two great-grandchildren, Tamara Randall (whom she loved to the moon and back) and Anabelle Ovitt, along with her many relatives and special friends. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Richard Mergenthaler who fell asleep in death in 2012.

 

A memorial will be held on Saturday August 26, 2017 at 5:00 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 679 Brockett Road in Dolgeville, NY. Michael Bono will preside. Calling hours are prior to the service from 3 until 5 PM.
