Obituary of Douglas A. Tracey
HERKIMER – Mr. Douglas A. Tracey, age 75, who spent the greater part of his life in Herkimer, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, August 29, 2017, in the privacy and comfort of his home.
Born in Norwich, NY on August 23, 1942, Douglas was the son of the late Merton and Lois (Thompson) Tracey. He was a graduate of Herkimer High School and then went on to start a career with Remington Arms, where he served for 37 years as a stock room clerk until his retirement.
Doug was a proud member of the NRA and loved collecting and shooting his guns. He had a passion for motorcycling and snowmobiling and in his spare time he enjoyed the art of photography.
He is survived by many cousins, including Bruce and Barbara Thompson of Smyrna, NY; many close neighbors and friends; and his beloved canine companion, Mickey.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 10:00AM -11:00AM at the original Enea Family Funeral Home (FKA Holleran Funeral Service) 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer, NY (315) 866-1011. Doug’s memorial service will commence on Wednesday at 11:00AM at the funeral home, immediately upon the conclusion of visitation.
