Obituary of Pauline M Martin

ILION – Pauline M. Martin, age 86, of Barringer Rd., Ilion, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 1, 2017, at the Sitrin Home, New Hartford.

 

She was born on June 26, 1931, the daughter of Antonio and Ida (VanDusen) Mastrogiacomo.  Pauline grew up in Chaumont, NY and graduated from Lyme Central School in 1950.  Pauline was one of 6 children.  Upon graduating she attended the Watertown School of Commerce.  At one time, she was employed at the Jefferson County Highway Dept.  On July 10, 1952, she was married to Harold Martin, Sr. in Chaumont, NY.  Harold passed away on October 3, 2003 after a loving union of 51 years.  Mrs. Martin attended the Ilion First Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Dorcas Circle.  She spent 56 years living in Ilion, NY.  Pauline’s life was centered around her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

Surviving family members include 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Harold “Bugzy” Martin, Jr. and his wife, Alexis Tangorra, of New Hartford, Terry and Joanne Martin, of Cedarville and Anthony “Tony” and Lee-Ann Martin, of Golden, Colorado; 5 grandchildren, Cassandra “Casey” Ragan and her husband, Levi, of Aurora, Colorado, Jessica Martin, of Golden, Colorado, Christian R. Martin, Jasmine S. Martin and Harmony L. Martin, of New Hartford; 3 great-grandchildren, Ryder David Ragan, Archer Anthony Ragan and Fischer Jay Ragan; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was predeceased by her husband; 4 sisters, Drusilla Hill, Laura Mae L’Huillier, Violet Favry and Mary Davis; and 1 brother, Anthony “Mastrogiacomo (Mastro)”.

 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s original location at 102 West St., Ilion.

 

Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Riggle of the Ilion First Presbyterian Church, officiating.  Interment will be held at Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion.

In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Ilion First Presbyterian Church, 90 Morgan St., Ilion, NY 13357.  Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.

 

Pauline’s service arrangements and supervision are entrusted to her Family Funeral Director, Don Applegate.
